SRW 2015

Seattle Restaurant Week is once again upon us! For the April version there 165 restaurants participating in this 3 course for $30 restaurant extravaganza. These deals, which also include a lunch option at participating restaurants (2 for $15), run April 12-16 and then again April 19-23. For the last Restaurant Week, I gave you some tips on tackling and taking full advantage of this wonderful event that Seattle puts on, such as MAKE RESERVATIONS as soon as you can!! See my full list of tips here.

I have compiled a list of my old favorites for you again as well as where I am headed this time! I am overlapping a few of my favorite places since I haven’t been in a while as well as trying several for the first time. You can see a full list of participating restaurants on the SRW website.

Old Favorites:

Daniel’s Broiler

Leschi – 200 Lake Washington Seattle, WA

Daniel’s is one of my favorite places to head for a good steak or a fabulous happy hour. In looking at their SWR menu, there are several options on there, such as their Braised Short Ribs with a Cabernet Sauvignon Pan Sauce and Garlic Mashed Potatoes or their Beet and Goat Cheese Salad that just sound to die for. Daniel’s is one of those restaurants that not everyone is willing to pay the full price for a dinner, so taking advantage of the 3 for $30 is almost too good to be true. The Leschi location has a stunning view of Lake Washington, adding to the overall sophisticated ambiance.

LUC

2800 E Madison St Seattle, WA 98112

This lovely French restaurant, nestled away in the beautiful Madison Park area, quickly became one of my favorites after the last restaurant week. LUC’s exposed kitchen and always bustling atmosphere makes the whole dining experience delightful. If I had to pick three courses from their dinner menu I would opt for their Smoked Salmon Tartine with Goat Cheese, Shaved Fennel and Parsley Salad, Halibut Picatta with Roasted Cauliflower, Prune, Bread Crumbs, and Watercress and finally for dessert I would taste their Rhubarb Trifle, Lemon Cream, Pistachio Brown Butter Cake. Also, they had a fabulous wine pairing last time, so I would highly recommend adding this on!

Purple Cafe & Wine BarKirkland, Bellevue, Seattle or Woodinville

Purple has always been one of my favorite restaurants for a happy hour or a full meal. This year, for SRW, each location has a different menu, so look closely and decide which of the menus might appeal to you the most. Of the four, I would probably go for the Seattle location as their menu looks the most unique. For my three courses I would order the Pomodoraccio Bruschetta, followed by their Grilled Anderson Ranch Lamb Sausage served with a warm salad of shaved artichokes, new potatoes, red onion and mint, dressed in a feta-yogurt dressing and to top it off, their Sea Salt Caramels never disappoint.

Staple & Fancy

4739 Ballard Ave NW Seattle, WA 98107

An Ethan Stowell gem and local Ballard favorite, this Italian restaurant prides itself on its chef’s choice “Fancy” menu which is a seasonally inspired, multi-course meal, shared by the table. While this menu is a great way to share and try a bunch of foods, going to their restaurant during the SRW is an even better way to test out their fabulous seasonal dishes. I would opt for their Proscuitto Di Parma & Pecorino, Grilled Mackerel, Baby Zucchini, Squash Blossom, Leek and finish with their Sorrel Panna Cotta with Rhubarb, Strawberry and Graham Cracker.

Tilth

1411 N. 45th St Seattle, WA 98103

Tilth was another favorite that was added to my list after the last SRW. This sweet little restaurant has transformed an old house into a Wallingford gem. Always packed and with limited seating, this restaurant uses only certified-organic or wild local ingredients to help support local farmers. My top three choices for Tilth’s menu would be to start with the Spinach Salad, followed by the Confit Chicken (to die for) and end with the Lemon Curd.

SRW Reservations:

Percy’s & Co

5233 Ballard Ave NW Seattle, WA 98107

Percy’s & Co is somewhere I have wanted to go since seeing it in a magazine when it first opened. They serve apothecary inspired cocktails and their menu is Southern and Creole. The whole look and feel of the restaurant is “Old Ballard” and I can’t wait to try it. Looking at their menu, I can’t wait to try their Kale & Brussels Sprout Salad w/ Pecorino & Crushed Almonds, the Fried Chicken with Red Beans & Dirty Rice (because who can say no to fried chicken) and finish off the meal with their Bananas Foster Bread Pudding and a House Made Rum Caramel.

RN74

1433 4th Ave Seattle, WA 98101

RN74 is a favorite and I can’t wait to try their SRW menu. This is a restaurant where you want to try everything, so taking a friend or two to try the whole tasting menu is a must. They are also sure to have a wonderful wine pairing list. I plan on trying their Potato & Spring Garlic Soup with   Bacon Rillette Croquette, Citrus Steamed Neah Bay Halibut (YUM!) with Posole, Chorizo Verde, Lime and Poached Egg and ending the night with their amazing Hand Cut Beignets topped with McCallin 12yr Butterscotch, Caramel.

Preservation Kitchen

17121 Bothell Way NE Bothell, WA 98011

I have always heard wonderful things about Preservation Kitchen and finally decided to pull the plug and try it. This little home turned restaurant in Bothell looks like it will make for a wonderful evening. I can’t wait to try their Grilled Washington Asparagus with Lemon Thyme Vinaigrette and Cougar Gold cheese, their Kurobuta Pork Osso Buco with Tomato Concasse, Basil, Spinach and Parmigiano Reggiano and for dessert the Lemon Souffle Cake w/ Rhubarb Compote. (I can’t get enough of rhubarb when it’s in season!)

Il Bistro

93A Pike Street Seattle, WA 98101

One of my all-time favorite restaurants in Seattle. This hidden Pike Place gem boasts an impressive Italian selection as well as a wonderful wine list. I haven’t been in about a year so I can’t wait to see what their SRW menu has to offer. I am going to try their Bruschetta Pomodoro on a Grilled Tuscan Bread with Organic Roma Tomatoes, Basil & Extra Virgin Olive Oil, their Seared Local King Salmon with Fingerling Potatoes, Asparagus & roasted Carrots and their FABULOUS Flourless Chocolate-Hazelnut Torte with Raspberry Sauce & Sweet Mascarpone. (Seriously – make a reservation here!)

Restaurant Zoe

1318 E. Union St Seattle, WA 98122

Restaurant Zoe was picked purely on the menu they had to offer for SRW. I have never heard of it and can’t wait to try something completely new and off my radar. Their Minestrone Soup-Rosemary Olive Crouton, Orzo, Spring Vegetables and Parmesan Cheese sounds incredible, paired with their Anderson Ranch Braised Lamb Leg with Couscous, Cashews, Picholine Olives & Date Jus and to finish, their Almond Cake with Rhubarb, Honey Mascarpone,  and Brown Butter Streusel.

Bell + Whete

200 Bell St Seattle, WA 98121

I had see a rave review of Bell + Whete online and have had it in the back of my mind to try. When I was looking at the SRW list of restaurants I was more than pleased to see it listed. I am going to try the Spicy Garlic Sausage Flatbread with Goat Cheese & Fennel, then, their Spatchcooked Game Hen with Shallots, Mushrooms & Foie Butter and for dessert the Carrot Sponge Cake w/ Walnut Crumble, Nutmeg & Mascarpone.

The Pink Door

1919 Post Alley Seattle, WA 98101

Another one of my Seattle favorites, The Pink Door never disappoints. I have dined here before and their “dinner and a show” feel is perfectly paired with their outstanding Italian inspired cuisine. Located in Post Alley, this restaurant is a must try for everyone. I can’t wait to have their House Smoked Ahi Tuna Carpaccio & Shaved Pickled Fennel, the Pink Door Lasagne with Fresh Spinach Pasta Layered with Besciamella, Pesto and Topped with a Marinara Sauce and finally their Olive Oil-Orange Cake- Berry Puree & Prosecco Pastry Cream. They usually always have a wonderful wine list, so I am sure if they have a wine pairing it will be perfect!

I hope some of these restaurants have inspired you to take advantage of this wonderful event! Let me know where you end up going and some of your favorite Seattle dining spots!!
