Last October, I took a bucket list trip to the Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York. The Catskills have always had a special place in my heart since we first visited my uncle’s property 15 years ago. I have been many times during the summer, surviving the stifling humidity and vicious mosquitoes. I have celebrated several Christmas’, decorating a fresh cut tree from the yard and hiking in the snow up to the rock quarries to see the giant icicles. I had never been during the fall to experience the vibrant colors and pleasant temperatures; Fall 2017 we made that dream come true.
It was one of the most beautiful trips I have ever been on. The colors that we all see in photos of the east coast autumn are in fact, not photoshopped. The reds, oranges, and yellows change overnight and become brighter and more saturated almost by the hour. I took over 2000 photos and when I was going through them all, I kept saying, “Look at this one, oh look at this one…” over and over again.
In honor of our Upstate New York trip one year ago – here are some of my favorite photographs. What is the most breathtaking fall destination you have ever been on?
