The Planning Process

When beginning to plan a wedding, the never-ending stream of inspiration is both a blessing and a curse. Luckily, Zach and I have very similar tastes when it comes to design so it has not been difficult to get a cohesive vibe. After pinning and saving many images, I went back and looked at the overall theme of the photos and dove into planning. Our venue (which is a surprise) is a magical blank canvas for our vision and allows us to play with a wide variety of shapes and sizes when it comes to rentals and floor layout.

It has been hard to convey everything that is swimming around my head and translating it into the design so we decided to turn to a planner. We are so lucky to be working with the team from Wild Heart Events to help execute our ideas over the next few months.

As I have sent images of our overall aesthetic to different vendors, there are several of the same photos that keep coming up that I thought would be fun to share. We are both drawn to jewel tones so black, gold and forest green are our colors. Since the wedding is at the end of December, it is really important to us that nothing about it was Christmasy so bringing in the deep greens in specific ways has been a fun creative process. For the overall vibe, think 21st C Versailles romantic and some modern European mixed in.

Here is our mood board for what our dream evening will be like. For other examples of what we are thinking – here is our Pinterest board as well. If you have any planning tips and tricks, I would love to hear them below! Enjoy

Overall Vibe

TIMELESS. ROMANTIC. ELEGANT. MODERN EUROPEAN.
