Happy National Rosé Day!
It’s no secret that rosé has been having a major moment for the past several years (it’s even had its own “National” day since 2014… but then again what doesn’t these days?!) Much like red and white wines, rosé comes in multiple styles, varietals, hues, flavors and a bit of both art and science behind each bottle. When I first tried rosé, I will be the first to admit that I was NOT a fan and couldn’t see why it was so popular. I was used to the bigger red wines and not a huge fan of white wines so something in between seemed somewhat pointless. That was until I sampled several different rosés from all over the world. I did a post last year for National Rosé Day where I touched on how this beautiful wine was made and this year I thought it would be fun to go over a few of my favorite tried and true bottles as well as a new favorite!
One of the most fun parts of making rosé is that the winemaker can choose any shade of pale pink to deeper pink they want! One of my favorite showcases of this is the Shades of Summer box from VINEBOX! They give you nine wines, one white, six rose and two red. Line them all up and you can see the gorgeous rosé rainbow in full effect. This is also the perfect way to try different types of rosé and see which kind you like best!

NEW FIND
Like I said above, I am very partial to specific types of rosé – my favorites usually end up being a Syrah or a Provence-style (Grenache forward) bottle. The combination of more flavor and drier mouth-feel make them easier (for me) to drink. Cue Standard Wines new USUAL Rosé which is a Provence-style rosé with grapes grown out of Santa Barbara. The fruit is sustainably farmed and there are zero additives! This wine is delicious, single serve size and looks great to take with you anywhere – think a picnic in the park or on your rooftop any time of day. Right now you can buy 12 bottles for only $96 which is insane. I’m thinking these bottles lined up in the fridge is going to look amazing in contrast to my boyfriend’s beer selection – you know, his & hers!
Special thanks to VineBox and Standard Wines for helping make this post possible! As always, my views and opinions are my own.
